No minimum term and no exit fee. Cancel from your dashboard and the community stays available until the end of the period you paid for. Or ask us to stop it now: we end the subscription on the date you choose and refund the remaining days of the paid period pro rata, whether you pay monthly or yearly.
Before you go, download 100% of your data (database and files) from your dashboard and 100% of the code through read-only SFTP, and reinstall the same HumHub on your own server or with another provider. The rules are in the terms of service.
CUZY Hosting is a managed service on our servers, built on the community edition of HumHub and the marketplace modules. Three things are out of its scope on every plan:
If you need one of these, the HumHub editions published by HumHub GmbH & Co. KG (Professional Edition for self-hosting, or their own hosting) are the right choice, and every CUZY module can still be bought for them on the marketplace.
CUZY modules are also sold individually on the HumHub marketplace for self-hosted instances: a first-year license with updates and support, then an optional yearly renewal, or a one-time license for some modules. Free modules are open source. Prices per module.
Yes. Every hosted community starts with a 14-day trial that includes all CUZY modules. No card is asked. Trials are not backed up and cannot be exported; both start the moment you subscribe.
No. Team and Business are flat monthly or yearly prices with unlimited members. Limits apply to administrators, storage and notification emails, and can be raised on quote.
Your community keeps working. Administrators see a warning at 80% and 90% of the storage limit, and a notice once it is passed; nothing is blocked, uploads and emails keep working, and we contact you to free space or raise the plan. Email limits work the same way.
Yes, on Team and Business. Point a CNAME (or A records for an apex domain) at your community and we issue the certificate automatically.
Yes. All free and paid marketplace modules can be installed from the administration screen, exactly as on a self-hosted HumHub. Professional Edition modules from HumHub GmbH are not part of the offer.
CUZY Hosting runs on our servers with the community edition of HumHub and the marketplace modules: no Professional Edition modules, no on-premise installation, no FTP or SFTP upload. Read-only SFTP, to browse and download the code and files of your community, is included on Team and Business. Organizations that need one of these should look at the HumHub editions sold by HumHub GmbH & Co. KG (humhub.com/editions); CUZY modules work there too.
On dedicated servers in the region you choose when the community is created: Germany (EU), the USA or Singapore (APAC), all at Hetzner. Germany and the USA are available immediately; a Singapore community is set up within two business days. Encrypted backups are stored with a separate provider in the same region, except for Singapore communities, whose backups are stored in the United States because our backup provider has no Asian data center.
Yes. Subscribers download a complete export of their database and files from their dashboard, once a day, and the code through read-only SFTP. The export is a standard HumHub installation that runs on your own server or with another provider, HumHub's own hosting included.
Security fixes within 48 hours. HumHub patch releases 1 to 2 weeks after release, after a canary phase. Minor releases from their first patch version, announced two weeks ahead; Business customers may defer once.
Plans change from the dashboard, and the unused days of your current plan are credited on the next payments of the new one. Subscriptions are monthly or yearly with no minimum term beyond the paid period. Canceling keeps your community readable until the end of the paid period; ask us to stop it earlier and the remaining days are refunded pro rata, monthly or yearly. About a month later the community is archived — it stops being reachable, nothing is lost — and it is deleted with its backups at the latest six months after the subscription ended. Ask us at any point during those months and we restore it, or delete it immediately.
Yes. Registered non-profits and organizations in countries with a very low median income can ask for a discount before subscribing.
